Açıklama

İki kişi, nesne veya durum karşılaştırılırken comparative yapı kullanılır. Kısa sıfatlara genellikle -er eklenir: cheap → cheaper, smart → smarter, fast → faster. Uzun sıfatların önüne ise more gelir: more comfortable, more sustainable, more efficient. Karşılaştırmalarda genellikle than kullanılır.

Bir grubun içindeki en üstün özelliği belirtirken superlative yapı kullanılır. Kısa sıfatlarda the + -est yapısı görülür: the cheapest, the smartest. Uzun sıfatlarda ise the most kullanılır: the most exciting, the most modern, the most sustainable.
