Açıklama

İngilizcede tarihler söylenirken günler için sıra sayıları kullanılır. Örneğin September 8 tarihi “The eighth of September” veya “September, the eighth” biçiminde söylenir. Bu nedenle first, second, fifth, twelfth, nineteenth gibi sıra sayılarının doğru kullanılması önemlidir.

Yılların okunuşu ise sayının yapısına göre değişir. 1946 → nineteen forty-six, 1700 → seventeen hundred, 1905 → nineteen oh five ve 2003 → two thousand and three şeklinde okunur.

İngilizcesi: Explain to students that dates are generally expressed by using ordinal numbers. Write a few examples on the board, such as “September 8 – the eighth of September” and “January 1 – the first of January”.
